We have kept the thread up as it is an interesting debate.  As long as it doesn"t turn into a personal slagging match, then it will remain live.

Good post Alan, and fair play to Dan for explaining his thought process.

the 2nd game running i have been done by 7/7,last time i had A/A and same situation,he hits a 1 outer for quads and this time he hits a 2 outer. both times on the river.

several answers im afraid, , ,

1, put u on 2 overs, flop gr8 for my 77,

2, your stack size, as mentioned, its a push regardless of miss or hit,

3. don"t know what a tag player is..

4. look where cardiff are, w must all be really lucky...

5. grow somw balls, then u wont be left with a teeny insta call stack.......

JUST SOME TIPS....HOPE YOU IMPROVE SOON !!!

thankyou for your reply, as for the balls, lol, you dont to get to WSOP x2 by not having any  ;)
i seriously think you have to rethink your game in the long term if you think that all anyone has is A/?,K/? every time they play against you.
and i am assuming also  you havent been playing long.
anyway, again i apologise if this thread has been taken the wrong way,as most who know me know i amnot in the game to get at anyone, but to learn as we all do this game we tend to love and hate which is poker

You are very unlucky - but you want 77 to call preflop - and post flop - right?

If so - you have to take the annoying chance of being outdrawn into account.

Aside - Owston69 won the tournament.

I don"t like the preflop call - given your stack - but once the flop is as it is call is pretty reasonable I think.

Your opponent may not know of your reputation.

Would you fold 77 pre-flop?

no..i honestly dont know him. . .. but if he"s going to Edinburgh i"ll be happy to say hi. . .. even buy him a beer for bad-beating him. .. .  :) ;) :D ;D

Fact is, sometimes you have to trust your gut instinct...... we all play different hand ranges, and whilst i like to try and analyze peoples play, it"s not that easy ...plus was pretty new to the table. . .

I have my reasons, and will not discuss them too much, or many of you may end up improving, who knows...maybe even up to my level, so i"ll bid you good night, well played Cardiff, cemented our place where we rightfully belong....Maybe we are all just lucky ? ? ? ?  ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

it is not meant as a slagging off of someones play, but to find ou why someone would do that,i apologise if it has come across the wrong way,
there are a hell of  lot of great players on this forum, and occasionally you have to question why someone does what they do.is it because they have a graet stack and dont care or is it because they genuinely believe they are ahed.
thanks to the mods in keeping this alive

If everybody just played the prescribed way, what a boring game this would be.

This is just another bad beat thread - **** happens, and Aces and Kings don"t always win.

yep agree - i bubbled in last nights tournament yet no complaints I took a risk and it backfired however playing that style allowed me to win the previous tournament.

If a player makes a questionable call then make a note on him and use it down the line because if he consistently makes questionable calls that can only be a good thing for you.

A poor post Alan (if you don"t mind me saying) you do a lot of this on another forum  ;) and as you have been told many times before you will never improve as a player if you don"t possess tilt control.  To many, me included this is a very easy call so no need to post IMO.

PS I"m sorry but scraping into the cash in a minor WSOP event doesn"t make you the authoritative voice on poker  ;)

every call is questionable. . . . . .

the question is...good call or bad call  ? ? ?

i appreciate the output guys,if a question isnt asked then no-one learns,my thoughts to start off with were.

surely undisputed knew he was behind from the outset, what did he think i had?
i was after the reason why he would call for a 1/4 of his stack, was it because he had a decent stack?
i have a lot to learn still,we all do and i for one would have folded preflop and would never have called to lose 25% of my stack.
in a way i suppose i was still thinking deep down of the last league game,i went out the same way to the eventual winner, that time he hit a 1 outer on the river, but at that time i shrugged my shoulders and said well done and got on with the next game.
i am still analysing why i couldnt do that this time, hence the post.
thanks to mods etc in letting this run out, its opens up a little more info for us small folk.
and Wasp,,i will never intend to be authorative cos of a little win  ;) you`re still my hero  8)

Would you raise there with 55?? AK ?? AQ ??
I m ahead of all these. . . . not to mention  AJ, KQ, J 9 suitred. . . etc etc etc. . . . (last night i lost a pot to a teammate who raised me with 10 4 off, and hit and beat my 66... u see me crying ???)

Maybe next time write i have KK in the chat box  ? ? Seriously, if i knew your hand of course i wouldn"t have called pre....... (for 4.5% of my stack) but after i have. .. no way can i pass on that flop. . .

maybe YOU shouldn"t pass there. . .and maybe I should have. .. but please don"t waste your effort on pointing out flaws in my game, when you obviously have plenty yourself.......
