The Nuts Poker League is the best one by a mile.

Run your own, paying money with out any chance to win some back is a waste of time imo.

What he said.

Played Champions poker league before and it had a weird structure where you got 1500chips at beginning and then another 1500 after 4 levels even if you have been out since the 1st hand.

Redtooth do the same damn thing, tis why Harmony stopped going, she made 2 final tables in her first 2 weeks when they played a more traditional structure. Then they introduced this thing, she did not like and thought it was nonsense.

the NUTS
Hi. structure is 3000 chips, with 20mins blinds starting at small blind 25/big 50 then doubling up every 20 mins,
play for points only with all players getting 80 points then final table of 8 increasing points upwards, points for final table depends on how many players playing on the night, usually a £2 charge for raffle & sometime food available ,depends where you play
played over a 3 month period with the top 25% of players qualifying for the local final , usually its the top 10 from this who win prizes then go onto the regional final where I think top prize is about £2000 decreasing, this happens every 6 months, hope this helps
P.S. generally a cash game after ( depends where you play )

If its any sort of decent boozer get the landlord to supply all the gear and do the snap. £10 freeze, 2k chips, 3 level smoke breaks. Done for 12:30 with 18-24 peeps.

redtooth league is ok but all pub leagues are nonsense structures, try to set one of your own.

i am quite sure that any local can run a tourney with a max stake of £5 per player and a total prizepool of £100 (basically 20 runners at £5 is the max you can run). its better than pumping money in fruit machines or being hustled at darts(ive been stung twice, never again)
3rd place £25 double chance freezeout grosvenor yarmouth
4th place £35 triple chance freezeout norwich poker club
1st place £5 rebuy palace casino yarmouth
1st place £10 freezeout geldeston's spieler

The nuts venue I play in was an ex cardroom manager as the tournament director.

We play 5k stack and 15 minute blinds are
25/50
50/100
100/200
200/400
300/600
400/800
600/1200
800/1400
1000/2000

Usually get 20 plus runners and an 8pm start usually ends up finishing around 11
