Pop ups
« on: July 20, 2009, 16:38:43 PM »
Has APAT subscribed to any Pop Up marketing lately? I am getting hundreds of pop up windows opening for all sorts of sites (some of which my kids should not be seeing!) on every PC and laptop in the house. The only two sites that get used on all PCs/Laptops are APAT and Facebook.

I have Pop Up blocker switched on in IE settings, and also have Google Toolbar installed with the Pop Up blocker enabled........ BUT I have APAT on my Pop Up Allowed list (so I see IMs coming through).... hence wondered if it was the APAT site causing the pop ups.

I"m on Remote Assist with Steve now. He should be back pop-up and virus free in 15 mins or so.

Stop browsing animal porn sites imo.

Use a proper browser like Firefox or Opera.

Steve"s pop ups were not browser specific. He had 87 files infected with SpyWare / Malware (not from any "dodgy" sites I"d like to add).

Ah, so it was a PBKAC situation.

Still, the advice to use a proper browser holds true.
