i find its usually the people without ipods and stuff that just don"t follow the game and take ages to act. I wear an ipod occasionally and never have to be waited upon, perhaps we should ban doddery old buggers from the table??

Playing a Stars game at the moment and there is a guy playing very loose and sucking out on a lot of players.  He"s getting a bit of stick in the chatbox which he takes in good jest.  However his justification for this is,

"gotta go soon thats why"

"hoping to bust pretty soon"

Now this is a $33 tourney, which is in the first hour of play.  This sort of thing, really, really bugs me at the table.

It"s not so much the style of play, as you say a great opportunity.

It"s just the need to justify it with some nonsense excuse.  If that were the real reason, why even sit down in the first place.

Everytime i"ve seen this happen it has been codswallop, they normally have huge hands and generally act like tossers in the chatbox when they have busted someone.

I"ve heard these quite often in live games to justify ropey calls. Another good one is "I"m bored". Sometimes "I want to go and play cash". Translation = "I don"t know whether to call or not, so I"m getting my excuse in first in case I end up looking stupid".

Seen a guy do the "I"m bored and want to play cash" a few weeks ago

quick look and went all in utg with 4bb left. Got up and walked away saying he wanted to join the cash.  3 callers and when cards turned over he had full house when his 4 2 hit a 442 flop

so he came back and next hand on his bb the button shoved all in for 10 bb (ish) and he called blind

button had 10 10. Villian had pocket kings and was now c
almost chip leader.

Funny. He didn"t want to play cash anymore and took the game a bit more serious
