It"s certainly not ideal when a lot of hotels, like the one I"m at, have a checking in time of 3pm.

When it was booked an hour and a half was plenty of leeway to get there in time for the start - and wasn"t the reason to have the early registration so that people could make their plans?

Was there much point in letting people have so much time - then changing the details at the last minute?

Im pretty easy but def like the idea of the earlier start!!  Nothin worse than w8n around.  Early start = less pints b4...earlier start also = earlier finish which thus = more pints after.

I"d prefer earlier given the choice. But whatever is easier for majority

It won"t matter either way for the majority - it"s just a question of how much of a minority it does affect

An excellent point Jon and, whilst not a deal breaker for me, is one worthy of emphasis.

Doesn"t bother me at all personally - in fact, I"d prefer the early start.

BUT, that"s not important.  Jon has a very valid point, and people who are travelling from a distance and have planned their travel arrangements to tie-in with the start time might be penalised by any change.  However, the start isn"t changing that radically, and people should already have included some slippage into their plans in case they are held up with their flights/car journeys, etc.  Of course, if you arrive late, you aren"t penalised other than being blinded away slowly.

It"s not ideal - and it"s a shame the earlier start wasn"t sorted and announced earlier.

I might struggle to get there for a 3pm start but if it has to be then it has to be. I"ll just have to work super fast and drive super quick to get there as early as I can

You can hire either a Vanquish or Moderna 360.

Hope this helps.

Not worth reiterating too much, but just to highlight:

"... However, the start isn"t changing that radically, and people should already have included some slippage into their plans ..."

An hour and a half is a significant amount of time to allow for "slippage".

and

As I said 3pm is a significant time as a number of hotels use that as their checking in time.

Most hotels we"ve stayed out during our poker travels have allowed us to check in up until Midnight and in some cases a lot later.

obv it"s still do able if the start time gets changed to 3 - but
a. you won"t necessarily finish at APAT and get from one side of Nottingham to the other by midnight
b. it"s far from ideal to lug around a long weekends worth of luggage from Nottingham city centre to DTD and back again

Even if you are not allowed to go to your room before 3pm, most reputable hotels will check you in and keep your luggage until you do return for your key, whatever time that may be.

I don"t think the details are important.

The short version is:

... it"s still do able
... it"s far from ideal ...
