What line do i take here
« on: August 13, 2009, 20:17:29 PM »
Pub game after nuts pub tournament

only a £10 buy in with 5p 10p blinds

1st hand of the cash game and im in the BB

UTG i have no info on - new to the venue
Button i know very well, likes to play almost any cards from the button and happy to play most connected/one gapper cards. plays position very well and a very good LAG player

UTG raises to 30p, button calls and i have Q9hearts - decided to call to defend my BB as its the 1st hand

Q96 flop rainbow, no hearts. im happy but not wanting to get greedy i decide to lead out with 80p into the 90p pot. both UTG and button call. think button has A6 or perhaps 78

6 turn

cautious of the 6 with the button i decide to do a feeler and bet out £2 into the £3 (ish pot). if im raised i dont think i can go any further but both just call. i know pretty sure button has A6 or 78

Q river

with the betting as it is im very curious but think im ahead. i lead out for £4 into the almost £10 pot and have just under 3 left. UTG calls and button shoves all in

just under £3 left i dont think i can fold so i call

what you put the button on

Even I could play that hand superbly -- AA didn"t -- but your hand played itself

I"d bet the flop bigger. Screw subtlety, stack off with top two in £10 pub game.

If you are losing your whole stack at this level, maybe you should move down to lower stakes for a while.

Disagree. In a £10 pub game, if you DON"T lose your stack with the best full house and the second nut hand, then you are just too soft.
