Break 4

16133 vs Average 12877

Big stroke of luck to get going.

J3 in big blind - call a 2.5BB raise - flop 737 - check raise all in - vs 66 ... ahhh! ... J River

AA vs AK back into play.

Moved table ... decided to take advantage of no info ... raised to 2.75BB with J8 suited ... flop Jxx ... check raise all in (though not before using 71 seconds on time bank on disconnect!) ... this time folded to me.

QQ ...early position limp for 250 ... big stack raise to 1250 ... I decide to flat call ... flop 833 (two spades) ... check re-raise all in called by KQ spades ... I survive.

Perhaps time to get back to different strategies!!

Nice, I"m still hovering around the 7k.  Had got up to 10 at one point but then had AA cracked by 77 :(

... it was suited ... LOL ... no ... I had no faith in the raiser ... albeit with no evidence ... and I think from what he said afterwards he was just on a card rush ... big lucky break.

Generally I think it is a reasonable stategy to check raise all in if you hit anything. (as a short stack)

um generally a very bad tactic. The hand you played with J3 should show you why!

Terrible shape versus a pair.

Very often - versus two overcards - then in okay shape - was pretty low in chips.

The point is- you have no idea of what you"re up against.

You could apply that theory to any hand. If you have J3 and the flop came 489 and you c/raise all in, if he has two overcards you get the same result- ie they fold.

Effectivley, on either flop, you"re turning your hand into a bluff.

Position is so key here. Just muck pre. If you really think villian is weak, re raise pre

um generally a very bad tactic. The hand you played with J3 should show you why!

Unlucky mate.

Break 5:

Two big dodges for me TT vs AA with no face cards on the flop.

AQ vs KK pre (short stack had pushed with AJ)

Lost a few chips playing AJ - which I missed on the flop (probably should have folded these)

8183 vs 20047 Average.

Blinds 200/400(50)

First hand after break.

AT vs 88 ... double up with a straight on the turn.

16.7k vs 20.5k average.

2373 left.

(J3 playing in the BB)

As a short stack - if I push all in pre flop I called by the hands I want to push out post flop.

I agree I am without info as to his pre flop hand - a pair is normally going to kill me.

Standard play with short stack ... push with wide range of hands get looked up by better hands need to get lucky ... which I did in this this.

I might think and write about this tomorrow - I may be wrong!

How are your tournaments going?
