logged into FT to see how many pennies I had left in my depleted account, and found the Daily Dollar about to start at 20:15. It had 3500 runners, and with 1500 chips and 10 min blinds, I figured on 4 hours ish.... didn"t account for the fact that as it"s a cheap rebuy, there would be masses and masses of chips in play later on. (literally masses!!)

Now nearly 2am, and we"re down to 75.... i have a whopping $16 locked up so far. lol. final table starts at $83, with $2300 for the winner.... talk about a top heavy structure!! unfortunately I have a feeling it will be 4am at the earliest before it finishes. could end up going to bed after 4am for an $80 payout. sigh

I made the same mistake through the week. Been on terrible form recently so trying to only play $11 & under buy ins at the moment, fired this up, in for $4... SIX HOURS later I bust in 22nd place for $35 when I re-raise all in vs chipleader with my Jacks and am snap called with 9T suited (for over 60% of his stack), flop TTx *sigh*... definitely wont be playing it again even if I only have a dollar to my name

So sick...  at 2.25 I run QQ into AA and drop from 900k to 240k. blinds now 12k/24k..... then facebook throws a wobbler, opens hundreds of new windows and kills my laptop.  By the time i get restarted (15 mins it took!) I"m down to 70k and stuffed. 8.5 hours for $28 - decimated by Facebook!

On Monday whilst playing my forum freezeout league i also regged for 7 or so early tournies on stars to keep me occupied. I don"t normally play loads of tournaments on work nights for obvious reasons, but fancied playing a few that night

However i managed to make last 25 of the 30k (5200 runners) and the final table of the 80k (2k+ runners) and i was still playing around 4am - i sure enjoyed getting up at 7am for work.

Even more fed up that i only got $109 for the 25th and $1700 for 8th in the daily 80k, when there was $17k up top. Although i guess i shouldn"t moan.

No Dean, you shouldn"t! Thats a great effort.

maybe you shouldn"t moan but that payout structure is so top heavy...how should you get 163000k just for beating 7 more people when you have already beaten 2000 plus. Especially by that point it is more luck and timing rather than skill.

never thought of it like that - the final table in most of these games is just a shovefest.... all that skill and patience to get past 1000s of runners, then luck and shoving to make massive leaps up the ladder.

to be fair it wasn"t a total shovefest and the stars structure is ok, but the players on the table were so aggro it turned out to be a 3bet/4bet contest. It is the first time i have been at a final table and been the most passive and tight player at the table. I got a pair blind v blind against a high/med stakes tourney reg but his pair was bigger than mine obv.

I played the 30k on stars last night as i was a bit bored.

Ended up coming 2nd and not finishing til 3am.#

The $5k i won helped ease my pain when i was in work for 8am  :s
