APAT UK Team Championships Live Update
« on: January 21, 2010, 21:04:52 PM »
The hour is nigh. All over Great Britain and further afield suitcases are being packed. Loins are being girded. Elaborate plans are being made not to get cornered in a bar with all eight members of the Chezger team and Laxie. From that scenario, no good can come. Except to providers of private hostpital beds in Greater Manchester.

There follows a few posts with information on the event, and the teams

and then, as is my wont, a simple competition.

See you in Manchester!

The APAT UK Team Championship will be played at the G Casino in Manchester on January 23rd / 24th, 2010, with play starting at 2.30pm on both days.

The format will see 20 poker communites from all over the United Kingdom compete for the prestigious title.  Included in the field will be Bristol & South West Meetup, the reigning APAT United Kingdom Team Champions and Mary Martin, last year"s individual Championship winner.

The format for the event will be a 10,000 chip, 160 runner, multi table freezeout, with a 45 minute clock.  As with all APAT events, the UK Team Championship will be registration free for members and have a £50 buy in per player.  Each team will feature 8 players.  Points will be awarded to the top forty finishers to determine the Team Championship.

The prize money will be split 50% / 50% between the Team and Individual Championship.  In addition, the owner of the winning Team will receive an added prize of £1,000 and the Championship Cup, while the winner of the Individual Championship will receive an entry to a GUKPT main event and the Championship Gold Medal.  These added value prizes are courtesy of tour sponsor Blue Square Poker.

PRIZES

Team Championship:

1st - £2,000 and the engraved UK Team Championship Cup.

The owner of the winning team will also receive an added prize of £1,000 after the event via their Blue Square account.

2nd - £1,200.

3rd - £800.

APAT recommends that each team prize is split equally amongst competing team members.  However, this is ultimately the decision of each team and where a team chooses to agree a different structure, it is essential that agreement is reached by all members of the team prior to the event starting.

Individual Championship:

1st - £1,250 and Gold Medal and GUKPT Package.

The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour package comprises an expenses paid entry to a GUKPT event.  The GUKPT package is worth in the region of £1,060.

2nd - £750 and Silver Medal.

3rd - £500 and Bronze Medal.

4th to 9th - £250 each.

Alternates will not be allowed to enter this event.

The prize fund outlined above is subject to 160 paid entries at £50.00 per player.
