PokerStars is by far the best poker software (IMHO).

However, the cash games are a lot softer (at the low levels I play) on iPoker (which is the network BlueSQ is on).  So the software isn"t as good, but if you can win more - that more than makes up for it!

How do Blue sq and party poker compare to poker stars,
in short they don"t.
Form is temporary, but class is permanent

I play at Party Poker which is my personal fave. Poker Stars which I find the reality is not as exciting as the image (if that makes sense???) and Sky poker.

pokerstars occasionally, pokerplex, bsq (discuss later on), poker heaven mainly,  gala poker. just got rid of VC , Dreampoker and Royal Vegas(chat ban last two due to talking about other sites?????). ##

right blue square---- does anyone else have this problem.  get a hand and the site boots you off.  seems to happen quite alot to me, been booted holding nuts countless times, as well as after betting a big hand like trips on flop, obviously loose as site doesnt like to reload that quickly, or access the tables fast. getting increasingly annoyed and peeved off with them, may just take my money out and go else where again.  got rid of VC due to thier link up with BSQ and software issues. >:(

RANT OVER.

cant wait till next live regional. ;D

BlueSq software was working a lot better for me on Sat night than on Thursday. One question Ken, how much RAM do you have in your PC? I find that with 1GB / 2GB (laptop / desktop) I have less problems than friends running systems with 512MB / 768MB. I think this is the first thing to look at if the delays are lengthy enough to force you to fold a hand.

My BlueSq "delays" are usually between 3 secs and 12 secs which is still bad but still short enough that I can catch an affected hand. 12 secs has only happened a couple of times when I"ve been running my RAM hard with lots of work-related windows open at the same time.

See http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=502.0 for other BlueSq software related rants and more techy stuff on the disadvantages of playing wirelessly.

Hope this helps. See you on 10th! I promise to get your name right next time!  :-X

Im mainly a poker stars man myself due to the choice of tourneys and the reliabilty of the software. Love playing certain tourneys on PKR though - have to say its a lot more fun and keeps the interest in the longer tourneys.

Try the $30 deep-stack tourney on sunday afternoon at 3pm. Good standard of play, good structure and doesnt last a ridiculous amount of time.

Oh and btw, cash games are steal at the lower levels. So much dead money!!

On my laptop, with 2GB of RAM I have zero problems on BlueSQ.

Sometimes it can ISP issues, often it is memory issues with the player"s comptuer.  The only time that iPoker used to freeze for me was when I only had 512MB of RAM and I was running Poker Tracker.  Each time Poker Tracker imported the hand histories and updated its database, everything would freeze for a few seconds.

Used to be party poker but left it because of the drop in the prize money in all their tournaments when americans were banned. Now play on Stars mostly but also think full tilt have as good software. IMO they are the top two sites at the moment, will play blue square occasionally but dont think their tournament structures and value per tourny entry fee go anywhere near close to challengling the "big two".

Played on both Party and Stars and found Party to be more of a crap shoot with their aggressive blind structure. Stars gives you more opportunity to play as their structure is very slow. Fulltilt has some great functionality as well that lets you look at last 50 hands and give you live playing stats. Can't comment on the ring tables as only play the tourneys.
I mainly play at fulltilt as they run some great tournaments with deep stacks and slow blinds so loads of opportunity to play poker instead of just getting your chips in and hoping for the best  ;)

obviously right in the mix then,   not  enough RAM and wireless at same time :-[

may have to upgrade ram on laptop or sit on my own upstairs on main PC, but like doing other things when playing as well............................

ideas on a postcard ;D

seriously though i do tend to be playing on two or three sites at the same time, so RAM is getting used quite hard....  also along with the games of othello, backgammon and scrabble running in background...... can you tell i get bored with one table..........

anyhow  see you on the 10th m8,   bob wasn`t it ???? ::)
