APAT Scottish Amateur Championships
« on: May 12, 2010, 10:56:42 AM »
A short time ago the Grosvenor Casino Aberdeen pulled out of hosting our APAT Scottish Championships on 19th-20th June 2010. This was obviously a severe disappointment to us, and created headaches!

We had therefore to change plans, and now I can say what these are.

The International Casino in Aberdeen will now host the event, on the same dates

Saturday 19th June will see the two day £75 APAT Scottish Amateur Championships held. At present this will be limited to 100 players, though we hope this will be 120 players if the venue can secure sufficient resources to manage this

Sunday 20th June will see the £250 APAT Professional League Series event, with a capacity of 50 runners.

Both events will begin at 3pm, with casino opening at 2.15pm on both days

Sadly  the Specialist Series event on the Sunday will be cancelled for Aberdeen.

Satellites and direct buy-in for Aberdeen will take place next week.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but at least we still have an event.

Very disappointing Richard but well done to APAT for arranging an alternative at such short notice.

Really hoping I get a seat at the reduced numbers.

I just assumed that would be a standard replacement.

for those already planned hotels etc dont panic the G and the international are 100 yards apart, for those booked into the douglas hotel you are literally next door and can step out the hotel straight into the disabled entrance (but you will have to use front door)

quote from Ironside

"btw international is much better for us guys at the jurys inn means we wont have to climb the brae"

Now I assume a brae is a hill of some sort or is it a cryptic clue ???

Only been to the Inty once, but it"s very nice and John the manager is very supportive of poker - just hope I get a seat.

Hiya John/Legionnaire, can you tell me please what is scheduled for the Sunday afternoon/night?

I have to admit that one of the main factors for travelling to Aberdeen (apart from seeing you guys) was that the Specialist series was a NL game if I donked out on day1...I know I probably wont but nice to have a backup plan ;-)

Suzanne, Sunday afternoon we have been asked to run the Pro Event £250 Buy-in and Day 2 of the Main Event, both 3pm start. At present we have no plans for any other tourniements during that Sunday. All spare tables will be used for Cash Games and Sit & Go"s (if demanded), all of which will be Dealer Dealt.

Is there a view as to how sparse this might make the Pro League field?

Will people who bust out of the APAT £75 field be allowed to entire the Pro League the next day?

I have nothing booked - though had shaped my calendar around the Saturday.

I look forward to thoughts.
