What with the APAT United Kingdom Amateur Poker Championship exactly 1 calender month away - I have only just noticed something.

This is on the 8th of December in Machester!! They have put this on the same day as the fight of the century - Ricky Hatton vs. Floyd Mayweather?!

Before any smart ass says - yes I know the fight is in Vegas - however Manchester will be buzzing because their prize man is in action.

Poor planning by APAT or just coincidence? You decide... ;)

I don"t understand why this is a problem?

It"s not like they"ve scheduled the tournament to clash with a big football cup final in they city. That would make all the hotels either full or more expensive, so that would be a problem.

But at a practical level, what problem does this cause?

you can please some of the people some of the time but, you can"t please all of the people all of the time. (perhaps you should have consulted with the wbo before planning season 2)

this phrase is used to much in too many fights - but this is the real deal!!!
i cant wait for this fights. i never say this about a box office event as think charging extra on top of sports package is a con - but this is worth every penny!!!

There hasn"t been a bigger fight in the last 7 years - so it"s easily the fight of the century.

In my opinion anyway.  But I fold KK first hand to a shove - so what do I know?

I"m in the minority on this one.  But I would let it go...you know, let it go...as in fold...where"s my coat?

I really don"t see what the problem is - would rather be playing poker than watching two guys beating each other to a pulp....  I hate boxing...    :(  give me a good, well run, poker tournament anytime.
