JJ Hazan

If that is in response to the "finalists still in" question, then no - ten points deducted from your team - he was knocked out last night.

If it"s a query for information - Mr. Hazan is back in the casino ready to try his luck spinning up on the cash games today.

After a short argument about how much the player in question does or does not look like Christopher Lee, the ever-helpful Benjo has informed us that the cap-wearing gent who some posts back became involved with Carl Hostrup is in fact French player Eli Marciano. Thanks, Benjo!

He does look like Chrisptopher Lee.

Bloke sat next to Cowboy hat?

Is it the elephant man in fancy dress as the Tin man from Wizard of OZ?

I had almost resigned myself to thinking that Noah Boeken was out ... but then I saw him, named last on your list.

Go Noah for my £75 Buy-In!

My perfectly sensible hat was from the Sheplers store in Vegas.

They have an online site - here

I"d say that was more of a Stetson than a ten gallon hat.

As far as ridiculous hats go, I remember once I was in Nashville with Jen and my friend Bernie. Bernie was trying to find a cowboy hat but his efforts were being thwarted by his enormous melon being just too big to fit. Eventually we found a shop on the main strip in central Nashville where the guy went into back room "enormous hats" cache, and actually found one to fit. I recommend you go there.

Incidentally the dude being beamed up next to Hat Guy is Johann Storakers. I think.

I thought 10 gallon was a type of hat shape and Stetson was a brand name.

You know when you see a player in front of one of the TV cameras that they"re on their way home (or to the cash game).  The latest stars of the small screen (i.e. eliminatees) include Rolf Slotboom, who said, of the rail, "I shouldn"t be here."  I didn"t press him for outdraw details, just congratulated him on a good week at the Festival, having come 14th in an earlier Hold'em event and finalled the Omaha for good measure.

Also OUT are Pete Haslam, Casey Kastle and a gent on Praz"s table whose shortstacked limp/call-an-all-in combo with  7s 7h found  8h 8s in the all-in player"s hand to take him out.

Nick Gibson"s had an adventurous sounding day.  It didn"t start off well, with Jan Boubli apparently re-raising him for fun all the time and dropping his starting 50k down to 25k a moment ago.  "I was his bitch," admitted Nick.  But then a hand helped him back up, when, "I tried my hardest to bust myself."  Here"s what happened:  An under the gun raiser raised, Nick made it 5,100 with  ac ks, one caller.   The flop came Six-high, perfect, and Matey bet out 6k.  "All in," says Nick - for 20k.  A very long genuine dwell ensued, at the end of which Matey called with his  qd qc!  But an Ace on the turn got Gwibbo out of jail and he"s back in the tournament in spite of himself.

Oh I seeee.  That"s two things I"ve learnt today. I also found out Jennifer Tilly was 50 years old next year thanks to an update on the blonde forum.  FIFTY!! She always reminds me of Cupid Stunt, but to be fair to her, she looks ok for someone approaching a bullseye.  Aging in the best pooooosible taste.

There is a scheduled break in a few moments which will be our first opportunity to get into the Poker Pit (main tournament area).  Chips will be counted at lightning speed and hopefully posted here with similar alacrity.  Please bear with us - I apologise for the gaps in information, but we"re on a very short leash at this one.
