Incidentally, there are at least four of last year"s finalists still in this tournament.

Can anybody name them?

Also OUT so far is everyone"s favourite cat-eyed Finn, Voitto Rintala. No idea what happened, but I have a photo of him leaving thus.

I caught an actual hand while I was leaning over the slot machines to get some aerial photos of the main pit. After a veritable bunch of preflop raising, a flop was dealt -  :2c: :3d: 4c

Carl Hostrup bets 3k, and the gentleman in the cap below (looks familiar but we"re not sure of his name - anybody?) makes it 6k. To which Hostrup moves in; call.

Hostrup -  :as: td

Cap Man -  8c 9c

Turn -  :2d:

River -  qs

And Hostrup doubles up, leaving Mr Cap very short. Someone at the next slot machine along from me shouts to Hostrup, "You are SICK man!" There follows some kind of odd handshaking ritual that I don"t pretend to understand. Cap Man looks as irked by this as by the loss of most of his chips.

By the way it"s now our turn with the photocopy of the handwritten chip count sheets; Jen is typing them up and will post them shortly.

Meanwhile downstairs, Karl Mahrenholz, currently on about 45k, is sharing a table with Johnny Lodden, below. Also on their table is the gent in the extraordinary hat, also below. Karl dropped a few chips to him when he raised from the button, was called by Hat Man on the small blind, and then folded when Mr Hat bet out on the  9c ah qs flop. Mr Hat obligingly showed the  ad as Karl folded.

Astoundingly there are two 10 Gallon hats playing today. Here"s the other one. If anyone can give us any information about these hats, where they come from, what they do, that kind of thing, please share.

Perhaps you"ve noticed the gent on the left in the last post"s photo, being painfully beamed up to the casino mothership. Here are couple of other players in danger of being sucked up for tests and possible probing.

Praz Bansi

Rolf Slotboom

Squinting into the distance in the downstairs room I could see Pete Linton move in before the flop, and thus steal the blinds and I think a limp too, after some considerable dwellage around the table. Have to say he looked incredibly relieved when everyone folded.
