Now Trond raises from the button, as is the vogue currently in this three-way. But Tristan moves all in, and he has to fold.

On the TV monitor, Noah Boeken is giving them all what appears to be the evil eye from the comfort of the rail.

And getting on TV almost as much as his friend is Brandon Schaefer, bang in the middle of the front of the rail, where I imagine he"s been all day, behind Trond.

There is some not inconsiderable preflop raising and calling, which results in Trond Eidsvig and Tristan McDonald seeing an   :: :: flop. Trond checks and Tristan makes his favourite move - all in! Trond folds, and Tristan wins a 200k pot.

Michael Martin raises on the button (80k it looks like) and finds small blind Tristan McDonald re-raising to 340k....that"s a goodly proportion of his stack.  Michael thinks for a moment, shows the hole-card camera his kicker and the table his  ac and passes.

Oh oh oh and suddenly we have ACTION!

Trond button raises. Again.

Tristan reraises. Again. But this time Trond moves all in. Tristan calls.

Board -   :: (here there is a little "oooh" from the press room at the sudden possibility of a straight) but the river comes  jd and pocket Kings win.

Therefore Tristan McDonald is OUT in 3rd place winning €216,000. He is immediately smoking a fag, while all the necessary ceremony is taking place. Good man. Our two remaining heads-upsers are having a short break.

Ok, they"re back. They see a flop, and a turn and indeed a river -  js :: ah -  at which point Trond bets 85k. Michael calls, but mucks when Trond shows J-T.

It"s pretty close now in chips between the two remaining players - both over 2,000,000 but Michael Martin with the slight lead.

They have apparently made a deal according to a reliable French informer - €450,000 to be taken each.  But they"re both playing as seriously as ever - there"s still money and glory to play for.

DEAL OR NO DEAL...

They are therefore playing for about €100k and the commemorative dinner plate.

The scales tip towards Trond Eidsvig...

Trond raised preflop to 110k, and found button Michael Martin re-raising to 300k.  A pause, and he made the call.
Flop:  Trond checked, Michael bet 450k.  A furrowed brow and sidelong glance at his opponent later, and he surprised us all by announcing All-In...

Michael passed, sending 750k of his stack sailing over to the fearless Trond Eidsvig.

While the Heads-Upniks are on a short break, the press room is filled with hilarity at the entrance music for the finalists in the €100 rebuy. Honestly, half of them look like my dad. They very definitely don"t "...Got The Power".

Except, possibly for "Get(ting) Out On The Dancefloor" Rolf Slotboom in seat 9 - he"s had an awesome week, finalling in the Omaha and coming 14th in a Hold "Em event earlier this week too.

Still. It is kind of funny.

Ok, they"re back. Not that it makes a massive amount of difference currently. Trond steals some blinds. Then they both check a  ts td flop, and Michael folds to Trond"s 40k microbet on the   turn.

I suspect it"s going to be a bit like this until they both find a hand. It seems pretty good-natured thus far. Some giggling has been witnessed. Although not necessarily in these photos which I took before the break.

Action!  Michael Martin raises to 80k preflop, called by Trond Eidsvig.
Flop:  tc td  Trond checks, Michael bets 115k, call.
Turn:    Trond checks, and so does Michael.
River:  ts  A third check from Trond - Michael gives it a go to the tune of 175k, but passes quickly to a raise. 

Not sure exactly what the stacks are but I would guess the ratio now 3:1 or thereabouts, in Trond"s favour.

Trond limps from the button and Michael checks. He also checks the   tc qs flop - Trond starts merely to fiddle with his chips, and Michael just folds without waiting for anything like a bet. Giggling.

They see a flop and turn, at which point Michael bets and takes it.

Actually I can"t remember the last hand where they didn"t see a flop.

I think that this hand started with a limp/check combo... they get to the flop of ah td qc on which Michael checks and Trond bets 50k.  Call.  They both check the   turn, and Michael wins this one by betting out 90k on the   river.

Several blinds drift back and forth with preflop raising and folding.  It is good to see a lot of hands being played out, though - such a good structure means no crapshoot even heads up after four days.  Excellent.
