Ok, a bit of a trip report, as much as i can muster/remember!!!

Thursday, myself and Lucy eventually arrived in the tropical stoke. After a (much shorter than Glenn"s) taxi ride we arrived at the pub and were soon joining Ger, Paulie, Rich and Glen in full flow, and awaiting the arrival of Phil, Matty and JB to complete the set.

As the last bell was rung, we decided to move over to the casino, meeting up with alot of people, most of whom"s faces are a little fuzzy due to alcohol intake!!!
3 card poker ensued, I lost a bit, Rich won alot, Ger pointed out the free seats on the 1/1 cash table. Myself, Ger, Lucy, Barber and grant, and Im not sure who else to be honest sat down, and the carnage commenced!7

We ended up playing until c.5am! I walked away at some point about £100 up, mainly thanks to the following -

Ger is talking (shock) and claims to have 2 3 off suit. He promptly raises.

I look down at 2 3cc. So decide that as i am ahead I will raise.

Then Lucy gets involved. Re raising to 20-odd pounds, with Ger pretty quickly calling. I had c.£45 left behind at this point, so decided the best place for it was in the middle of the table, getting called by both Lucy and ger, follwed by a "woops" from myself.

flop x x x (dont remember that bit, not overly important for my purposes) turn 3..... river......3 Lucy had JJ, and got knows what ger was messing about with!

After thsi the night is a right off (as are most of them) and after much begging I convince Lucy and Ger to let us go back to the hotel (i got up for work at 5.45am on thursday so have been awake for 24 hours) AND they had stopped serving alcohol! Considering my preperations for the Team event to be completed perfectly, I went to bed.

Well, stockton home game tonight, looking forward to it, as it looks likely to be the last one of the year according to peoples plans, so will no doubt get messy.

My mission for tonight is to "stop wanting to win and fecking enjoy it" under orders from Lucy, so I shall try.

In all seriousness I know I havent been my usual self for a while now (thank god etc etc etc) and it is a bit difficult as even when i dont think things are on my mind, they are still lurking at the back of it. Its been a tough week this week, the old fella has caught a chest infection, which isnt good with his lack of immune system due to the chemo.

He was in hospital tuesday for most of the day on a drip for antibiotics, then got sent home, he was then back in yesterday for a blood transfusion that took most of the day. Today, he was in the doctors to get more blood taken to see if he was well enough to get his chemo treatment tomorrow. He is onto round 3 now, so was due an Xray to see if they could see any progress, but that could be rendered useless by the infection!!!

All very stressful!

Beer and the best, most kind and understanding people in the North East tonight should be just what I need to relax my brain.

And hopefully ENJOY MYSELF!!!!

Thanks everyone, really do appreciate it :)

Poker last night was standard. We started with 11 people, the final table was 10 people.

I really enjoyed sitting watching it.

Shoved 11bb with k10hh from small blind when folded round to me into Brian "the fossil" Harland"s bb. He wakes up with AJ. Gg.

Dad is still struggling massively with his chest infection, he can barely talk either at the minute due to it. After being his personal taxi and gofer for the last few days, he thought that he would say thankyou by giving me whatever form of virus he has. I think it"s AIDS. The bad version. Feel like cack!!!

Due to being Ill, he wasn"t allowed to do his chemo today, but they x rated his chest again and the consultant was delighted with the results. The cancer has definately not got any bigger and might even have shrunk a bit, which after 2 cycles of chemo is superb progress!! We are all over the moon with that result :) onwards and upwards :)

Excellent news on your Dads progress, sounds very positive.

Glad you enjoyed watching the final table last night and well done on almost making it yourself.
