Get yourself to the Auctions Stu, I bought a Saab 1.9TDi yesterday for less than 3K, bargain. And FYI a Civic 2.2CTDI black 80K miles  08 plate went thru for less than 3.5K!

And Steve it depends what bike you buy, the Saab was for my eldest lad, and still cost less than his bike!!

So, next week is the team championships, and I really cant wait for it.

Preperations were put on hold yesterday, as my mums Mum, my Gran, sadly passed away at the age of 90 after a vrey short  battle with a chest infection, which unfortunately she wasnt strong enough to battle.

This has hit my poor mum hard, as it is still less than a year since my Dad passed away. Its such a hard time for her, but she is the most remarkable person I know, and is dealing with everything with a dignity and poise that I know that I couldnt muster.

There was some fears that the funeral would be next saturday, but t has been organised for Friday the 31st instead, so I will be attending that and then shooting off to Stoke when we are done there.

Thanks to Jack for being so understanding, the man is a star and both him and Dawn have had some very kind words for me over the last day or so, and it is much appreciated.

As i said, i really cant wait for the team event :) This is the one event that i have never played, and being picked to represent APAT is a massive honour, especially when I am playing with the fantastic team mates that Jack has picked! I would also like to point out to people who are writing us off as a bunch of hopless alcoholics who will be out of the event in double quick time, that we have plenty of APAT experience, and lots of success too, so write us off at your own peril!!!

On the Sunday night down there, it is Superbowl time!!

We usually get together as a group up in stockton and watch it together in the local Walkabout, but this year, the stockton massive is mobilising and invading stoke :) So glad the lads are coming down, it is sure to be a top laugh, so if you are still about on sunday night, come and join in the fun :)

Seriously to begin with mate, again sorry to hear about your gran but glad to hear you will be in Stoke.

I agree to call your team a bunch of hopeless alcoholics is very short sighted and not a true reflection. Let"s consider who we have in the team. Dawn and Jack are both excellent alcoholics with a lot of experience. Micky is of legendary status in many ways. To be fair you are quite good as well, the same can be said of Phil and Darren. Dai is bound to be pretty good, he"s Welsh like. Karen did fall into a bush recently apparently but she did out last most of us that night at the bar. So yes as alcoholics I would say you tick all the boxes and are not hopeless at all.

Sunday Superbowl party will be awesome looking forward to meeting up with The Massive again. Could get messy.

SO! I have decided that I need a challenge.

I am going to lose 4 stones in weight in a certain amount of time (any realistic suggestions welcome, I honestly have no clue how ling would be a challenge?) And I am going to complete a half marathon AND marathon next year, to raise money for Cerebral Palsy charities.

I was thinking about a penalty system where I pay £10 per lb I am away from reaching my target or something similar, and if others want to sponsor me too that would be awesome??

CP is a matter close to my heart, as my 4 year old nephew suffers from it. He was born 12 weeks premature and while he is able to crawl about happily, has never been able to walk due to problems with his legs.

I am sure I have bored you all to bits about him in the past, but he really is my hero, and I know that he would love nothing more than to take one step, never mind run, so for me to be as lazy as I have become is just ridiculous.

So! I will keep this updated once I start with how the weight loss is going and also how my running progresses.

GL fat lad!!

3 months on and with an upcoming beerathon this weekend. Update please.

In other news I"ve bought a "desk bike" to help me lose some weight. In summary. It"s sh ite. Doesn"t even fit under the desk x

Update...

Lost 6 lbs since christmas, its a ballache! Not been able to do any running, or indeed any exercise as my notoriously ****ed knee (for other readers, i dislocated it when i was 15/16 and had a full reconstruction on it, so it likes to dislocate itself for no reason nowadays) has been playing up. Not even played cricket yet, so am hoping that the weight will start to fall off once i get back to being active.

Well, after a break of 2 years, I am making a return to APAT Holdem main event poker!!!

There has been a combination of factors that have meant I haven"t played since August 2013 i don"t think, which i forever ago, anf while I played the Dublin Omaha main last season, and made a dash down to Luton last year, I didn"t play the main then.

I can honestly say that I haven"t been this excited for a game of poker in ages, I am getting the same buzz as i used to get when I first started attending the big events, and I am definitely thinking that the break could have been a good thing.

I have spent a lot of time reading through some of the blogs on here, people like Ger, Rodders, Dave Amos and Phil TC, and it just made me realise how much I have missed being in and around the scene, so when the chance came up, it was really a no brainer.

It has been said before, the fantastic people are what makes APAT what it is, I can honestly say that you lot are some of the finest folk I have ever, and will ever meet.

I was reading back through my own blog (it really is garbage compared to a lot of other peoples, there are some top writers on here!) and came to the part of it in April 2013, when I went from winning the World Championship with England, to losing my Dad within the period of a few days. The support I received from my friends on here reduced me to tears, and made me realise just how lucky I have been to have this great organisation in my life.

Obviously, the Europeans hold a special place in my heart, and I am looking forward to coming to Manchester and having another go at getting a bit of glory.

See you at the weekend.

Won"t ever forget when you won the Europeans mate for 2 reasons, firstly you falling asleep in the back of the car heading back home cuddling your trophy, and secondly because you"ll never let us forget  :P

The friends we"ve made through APAT are friends for life, no matter how often you see them. Have a great time this weekend mate, great to see you back. Man hugs x

I knew on Day 1 that you were going to win the European back then. Reckon you can crack Aces with the mighty Queen Six again this weekend?

Has someone warned the G Manchester that they"ll need extra beer stocks?

Have a great weekend. Hoping to renew my APAT adventures soon too, Newcastle looks very tempting.
