Any thoughts on tonight"s football results Stu? Maybe the Liverpool Game or City even, not sure what other games there were.

Man Utd are one of the most boring, toothless teams I have seen.

Boro more than matched them for pretty much the whole game, barring the last couple of minutes of extra time, and were full value for the result in the end I think.

We have Everton next at The Fortress, and it issnt a game we should be scared of at all. It is very winnable, this cup lark is all getting a bit exciting all of a sudden!!

Midddlesbrough - The ONLY team to have won at Old Trafford and The Etihad in 2015. Fact.

Premier League? You"re having a Laugh.

Strictly speaking you only drew at Old Trafford but history will show the tie was won there.
Workmate who is a Man Utd fan was more annoyed that United still couldn"t beat Boro with an extra 30 minutes. She did say the better team won and that it would of been unfair if United won the shoot-out..
Well done the Boro, take Everton out for me please....

Just thought I would pop in.

This has been suitably neglected!

So, what is going on?

I"m back at College, doing my AAT level 2 certificate, which should lead to me doing some book keeping next year.

Being back in college is really enjoyable, and the change of career is quite exciting. I will be using the money I get from book keeping to do one qualifications, and it should let me attend a lot more APATs next season.

In 3 weeks 6 days, myself, my brother and a mate from up here will be about to set off to Manchester for a night in the Raddison Blu at the airport with some legends like Ger, wee man and Rodders to name a few. Rodders mentioned a restrained couple of drinks, I freely admit that it will be carnage! Have you tried having a restrained couple of drinks with Ger???

On the Wednesday we will be flying out to Las Vegas, for a week of debauchery in Sin City! Lots if our "Degens Poker" group going out, with most of them arriving later in the day, although our advanced scouting party of Tom Clark, Rich Baker and Debbie get out there a few days before I believe.

Rumour has it that I am throwing myself off that daft assisted fall thing on top of the stratosphere.

I"m doing it for charity, and it"s a great cause that helps my nephew who has cerebral palsy. I will be putting up a just giving page in the near future, so please give something if you are able.

Great news on the AAT stuff Stu.  A soon to be fellow accountant.

If you fancy chatting about spreadsheets and reconciliations at the next APAT event, you know where to find me.

Updates between now and Vegas please Stu, get the forum going again. Few questions for you

1) Drinking plans for Vegas
2) Poker Plans for Vegas
3) Thoughts on Boros performance in the Premiership

I actually already aware of the answers to these question but your posts are entertaining so encouraging more and it encourages Vegas talk.

Re: Have I ever tried to have a restrained couple of drinks with Ger? Yes of course, a few times, and I am not the type to give up!!!

Ok, here we go

1 - This is kind of organic. It just happens how it happens. Obviously we get complimentary drinks if we are playing poker/gambling at the tables, so I will be filling my boots at them points!! Great way of doing it is while playing Pai Gow, which I believe Ger has a formula for to show how it is actually making money to drink and play!

2 - Poker wise I want to play a few more than I usually do over there, there are some daily little tournies on the mornings which fit in quite well as it frees up the afternoons for general drinking and gambling!

The Aria $240 deepstack is one I am pretty much positive I will play in. Its a great card room so am definitely going to be visiting it at some point!

Last time we were there, we played down at Binnions, which was such great fun. Hopefully we will get a fair few of us down there again and can have a load on the final table again!

The twice we have been over, I have actually found the poker quite easy to play. This year however I havent got any volume of poker at all behind me, so I have little idea of how I will play when we actually get sat down!!

3 - Boro have had a weird start to the season. We are being a bit too defensive for my liking. We played Spurs a few weeks ago, and in the first half we were dreadful and 2-0 down, but after half time, we blew them off the park. We will have to see how things go. We have Waford at home on Sunday, which is a game I am going to, and that should be winnable for us, I would just like to see us go out and get at a team, rather than sit back and try and keep it tight.

In other news, I appear to be having a fair bit of success with NFL betting recently.

I tend to bet on individual players and the yardage they will get in individual games. This weekend we had 5 of 6 bets come in I think it was, with the other being scuppered by an injury early in the game.

The bookies over here definitely make some mistakes when setting the yardage they expect players to get, its just a case of sifting through the bets to find them.

Now posted on Ger"s fantastic blog.

Seriously, Ger"s blog is one of the best I have ever read, and it is a massive shame that some of the stories on there were lost into the ether after the server migration, they were all pure gold! Perhaps he should rewrite them :D

So, 3 weeks today, myself, my brother and a mate from up here will  be venturing down to Manchester Airport.

We have booked into the Raddison Blu Hotel, which is attached to the departures terminal. I have stayed there before, and it is brilliant, you rock up, park outside the hotel, give them your car keys and they take your car away to park it for you. The bar is pleasant, and the food that it does is absolutely superb. The fact it is a 3 minute wander to departures is a massive added bonus too. Especially with the hangover that drinking with Ger invariably incurs!

The Venetian deepstack is on while we are over there, and I might look at one of their tournies to replace the Aria $240 deepstack on the Saturday, as we are looking to go and watch the UNLV Rebels play in the college football, which kicks off at 1pm, so would clash.

I think I might join the Smyths at the shooting range as well, that sounds fun.

This week I will be setting up my Just giving account  for my charity suicide jump off the top of the stratosphere. Im sure I will have lots of APAT regulars there for "support" (laughing very loudly)

In the meantime, another 2 weeks of work. Weather isnt too nice for gardening at the minute, but it is paying for Vegas, so musnt grumble!

So last night was our cricket club AGM.

I am quite heavily involved, and next season will be no different. I am now 2nd XI captain, Club Development Officer and assistant groundsman!

I love the club, having only ever played there, and we are at a bit if a crossroads, with dwindling senior membership meaning that we have to look towards blooding the youth at the club, which I am really looking forward to.

It"s going to be a tough couple of years, but after that we should be well placed to kick on again. Im glad to be playing my part in that :)

Disappointed that Ger won"t be staying in Manchester airport with us pre Vegas flight!! Boooooo.

Rodders has been playing plenty of poker in the build up to going, getting himself right mentally and making sure his game is in good working order.

I havent played in months. I will probably get drunk and try and cause as much mayhem at the tables as i can.

2 weeks 5 days.

That makes one of us *lol*

Gutted to see Ger is not able to make Manchester. We will have to try and do him justice at the bar....... Actually forget that, just remembered we are being sensible.
