William De-vanney makes a move with his short stack and gets a caller in Gareth Cash.

William has queen high, and Gareth has ace high, and the ace is good.

William De-vanney finishes in 7th place.

so what are the remaining payouts?

It"s £1200 upto 4th place, then

3rd  - £4000
2nd  - £6500
1st  - £9000

It really is THE most eccentric payout structure and I"m never ever going to understand it.

Personally I feel that people play these events primarily for the ME structure and also for the social interaction and general bonhomie and all this despite the payout structure. There is generally a seat into something or other added so the tourneys will always be played out to a finish.

I love the events but I just don"t get why 9th pays the same as 4th.

It"s about the concept of gold, silver and bronze medals for the top three and then completely flat beyond that to encourage people to head for the top three rather than ladder up a place or two...witness this final table

Steve Roderick raise from mp, Jeldon Fernandes goes allin for his 210k stack from the small blind, Steve is really committed to the pot and makes the call.

Jeldon has 44
Steve has KT

The flop comes K x T, Turn T, River x, whiich means we lose Jeldon Fernandes in 6th place, collecting £1200.

Because it"s not about the money...the structure is designed to promote play at the tables and so is heavily weighted towards the later finishers.

Once the pressure is off about how much you"re gonna get (at the FT) then the play gets so much better when you"re playing for the win.

Simples.

Not sure whether commenting on a player"s tells whilst people are still in the hand is the best behaviour at the table.  Or screaming he has no hand this is a button steal.  Bit strange from tournament commentators!

Love that Tikay thinks that a buttons raise should be 100% of his range - very funny! What a fish!

Hi Mr Haircut. Don"t think the players can hear. Don"t take the feed too seriously either, I think its a great double act.

Almost as good as my double act with my psyche.

I am afraid I have to disagree here.

One"s play at the FT is primarily dictated by the size of one"s chipstack and it"s relation to the blinds and antes.

Age old argument which APAT have so far refused to shift on.
