Unfortunately the gf"s laptop has an awful virus that requires a format of the c drive to get rid, I don"t have a copy on Win XP on CD can anyone bring a version to Luton, or post, beer in it for youThanks JB
It"s functionally identical to the full version
Did you miss my reply JB or is it not of interest?
IIRC if you install the upgrade version BEFORE reformatting, it"ll boot from the CD (so long as BIOS is set correctly) then look for Windows on C:. It then gives you the option to re-format. You"ll have to use a key (the one I have for instance) for an Upgrade edition, I don"t think a full edition key will work with the upgrade version and vice versa.Think the above is correct but hopefully someone will point out the error of my ways if not. I"ll burn a copy tonight and bring it with me unless I hear to the contrary.
Disc copied, reg key copied, both inserted in case. Just need to give them to you now. Are you in the Days?
I have an old upgrade version I can copy for you. It only includes Service Pack 2 so you"d need to d"l SP3 afterwards. I believe it"s functionally identical to the full version but the upgrade version needs to see either a pre-existing Windows installation on the hard drive or you need to insert a qualifying install disc iirc.
