That"s a national rate number I believe...just put 001 in front I believe.

hmmm the Harrahs rate is the same as if I booked with a TR discount, and I"m inclined to stay at Ballys anyway - with a couple of nights at Caesars to finish. And the Caesars rate is cheaper.

I don"t suppose they gave any indication of whether the online bit will get fixed?

I could book my couple of nights at Caesars with this - but I don"t really want to pay for an American phone call

Jon,

Couple of things.

The CET system won"t, as I recall, let you book consecutive reservations.

Secondly, if the cost via the offer is the same as when you log in, then book it with offer and save any comps for use in Vegas..perhaps to pay for wifi?

On the other hand, if your preference is for Ballys then it"s not an issue.

Finally, if you"re saving money at Caesars then the cost of the call to the US is +EV....no?

Are we not more likely to get a better deal closer to the time?

Frankly...I doubt it...the deals I"ve seen are all slightly more than this, (the $35 to $40) range midweek as compared to the $30 offered here.

But even if a great one turns up, then you just cancel this one and re-book with the deal.

Like I said...it"s a no brainer!

I haven"t got any activity on my TR card, so I can"t get any comps in Vegas - the discount seems to be purely because I"m registered.

The cost of the call to the US is +EV, but not as +EV as getting the rate without having to pay for the call ;D

0800 098 8104 is a freephone number for them, but it"s "temporarily unavailable" at the moment - I"ll try again during working hours and see if I can make a booking with that number

I was thinking about Ceasar"s rather than Harrah"s.

Would you recommend the basic room with the $20 trick for the upgrade or fork out for the upgrade up front? (Bearing in mind I"m trying to keep missus SirP happy too)

Just had a look on TripAdvisor and Caesars has taken a bit of a battering recently. Just thought I"d mention it as we don"t want any unhappy campers (especially wifey ones) :-\

The Caesars" rate is as good as I"ve seen on the current raft of deals so it looks decent.

As for the $20 trick, it"s a matter of taking the gamble.

Would the Significant Other be happy with the "standard" room and treat the upgrade as a bonus OR is s/he expecting the upgrade and will be unhappy without it?

Just remember the $20 trick is your first Vegas gamble (unless you do the bag lottery) and should be treated as such with all the negative implications that come with it for travelling with a demanding SO.

If she"s never been to Vegas before and you"ve kept yer mouth shut, she won"t know she"d options.  But if you fear she might find out about said options - then ya"d better ask her what she wants...fairly lively.
