I"ve been on looking at tourneys to play, and although I would be happy to go with whatever other APATers are playing (tourneys or cash games), I have earmarked the last $150 Big Bounty Event of the Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza at 3pm on Friday 18th as being one I would be interested in.

Other than the APAT Event (dates, venue tba) has anyone else had a look at what"s on / expressed an interest in playing in anything else? Aria do a 1/3 NL game that I might like to try out whilst I"m there having a look around CC.

Would like to play a tourney downtown at some point but my main aim was to play the Friday noon Orleans HORSE.

Apart from that, the regular Venetian $150 noon tourneys restart on the 21st I believe...

I was going to wait for the APAT event details then work everything else around that.

The Venetian has by far the best tourneys IMO and I will probs stick to that most days with one from downtown thrown into the mix and maybe some drunken blind shoving style tournament at Harrahs/IP/Planet Hollywood or similar.

If you haven"t already checked it out this is worth a look.

Has anybody played the $125 mid day tournament at the Wynn?

I thought it looked good on paper - but I don"t recall ever hearing anyone actually recommending it anywhere

First time to Vegas for me and am currently looking at trips to Grand Canyon to break up the poker.
Has any one advice on any of the tour companies for grand canyon tours.
There seems to be a fair discount by booking early and on the net so it may save a few bob (more money for the pokers),any advise appreciated, also south or west rim, south seems to be the most popular reading reviews etc.

As for the poker The venetian bounty hunter on the Friday looks good also the $550 at 12pm although a little out of roll but hey whilst in Vegas.
If I can get some of the family to take a percentage might be do able.
Just looked on allvegaspoker.com it"s like the Internet but in real life regarding poker tournaments can"t wait.

Been a couple of times to the Grand Canyon but have always driven there whilst touring. I would highly recommend visiting to anyone but can"t help with the Las Vegas companies.

I guess there are 4 choices of how to visit. Helicopter, Light Aircraft, Coach, Hire car.

If you pick either of the road versions I would say doing it from Vegas is a bad option unless you plan on staying overnight. Its just too far to travel and the time you get at the Canyon is too short. If you do plan to stay over then this would be my recommended option.

If you fly then then the time spent at/in the Canyon would be my deciding factor rather than the price. Once you get there you will realise what I mean when I say the views are priceless.

Havn"t looked into it but if I was going from Vegas I would take a helicopter into the Canyon and a raft down it.

Again, don"t take my word for it, but there always seem to be LOADS of offers on the Helicoter flights once you are in Vegas.

I did the flight and then bus tour of Grand Canyon and although I do recommend it, the flight is a bit "edgy". I"m OK in light aircraft but this was an old plane and small 6 seater one (+2 pilots) - not recommended if you are even a touch nervous about flying. I was sat at the front of the passenger area and for most of the flight my knees were closer to the windscreen than the pilots" spines. I kid you not!

The views are AMAZING, from the golf courses you see from take-off to the Hoover Dam and that pretty big canyon itself ;)

Just spoken to the VIP guy at Harrahs.

Basically it seems that it isn"t possible to book seats in advance for Carnival Court on the Thursday but he said that if the few of us that are already there go over in the early afternoon and tell them what we want, we should be able to do something. The also don"t actually offer any other "added value" options either so he wasn"t alot of use. Over to you travel guru to weave your magic. ;)
APAT Season 6 statistics
APAT Live Events 8, Attended 8, Final Tables 0, Cashes 0, Ranking Points 0, Having a word with myself 1.

Well I"ll be checking into Harrahs earlier than the full contingent so I can wander over early in the afternoon and see what I can do.

It might be best just to make our way down and gradually take over...if you know what I mean.

We"d have done that anyway.  It"s in VIP man"s best interest to sort us out some other way if he has a problem with that.  lol

If you are at all travel sick then make sure you medicate before doing the light aircraft option! Oh, and make sure you secure loose items like sunglasses properly whilst on board!!! It"s a "must see" destination that doesn"t disappoint but there is a sometimes a price to pay for seeing such wonders! :(
