And behind door number
15 is............................
Remember this bloke ?
No, I don"t mean Des, I mean Paul Pitchford. In 2009 he appeared out of nowhere and won the player of the WCOAP in Nottingham and collected a very smart APAT polo shirt for his effort.
Very well played that man. Not bad for a first time APAT effort, but let"s be honest, consistency is another thing altogether, and everyone gets a bit of luck, especially when it"s their first APAT events. We won"t be likely to hear much about this guy for a while I"d errrrrr, ahhhh, okay, so I may have got this slightly wrong.
Roll on a year and Paul is back in Nottingham at the WCOAP, and he"s really moved up in the world. This time he"s with Tikay. And for the second year running Paul Pitchford is player of the WCOAP.
And this time he"s won a Betfair bag. Boy, no expense spared there then. What"s that you say ? The bag contains a seat in the WSOPE event #3 worth over £1k courtesy of APAT's sponsors Betfair Poker. Who"d have thought it ?
What great added value, and I"m sure Paul will really enjoy a trip to the capital of England. He can mingle with some of the superstars of the game, maybe get a few autographs, and when he gets knocked out, he can do a bit of sightseeing. It"ll be a lovely experience for him and a great few days away.
Afterall, he"s only an amateur poker player. Up against all those pro"s, he"s likely to fade away quiet quickly.
Doesn"t he look smart on day one in his nice APAT shirt ?
Sorry, what"s that ? This was day three. You are kidding me ?
And he won £40k for finishing fourth. If only he"d written a blog about this for everyone to read.
Ahhhh, okay, I get it now.
Paul"s WSOPE BlogIn last year"s advent calendar,
A star was born, this year that star is heading for legend status, can"t see how he is going to top that for next year ?
What, really ? He"s only been picked for the
APAT Team in the UK Team Championship in Bolton this January. So there is greatness above cashing in your first WSOPE event for £40k.
Perhaps the best is yet to come.
