Back pain for over a week has curtailed sitting at the computer for any length of time and therefore the pokerz   Also go into hospital tomorrow for minor day surgery so if you see me on any online poker table at any point tomorrow, just say the word anaesthetic please to remind me I should be nowhere near the virtual felt and more importantly my bankroll  

On the positives this week, I had a lovely few takes on Sunday night after JE mentioned on twitz he was having a little punt on the Superbowl. Being in pain and unable to sleep I decided to do the same, then scored 3 individual bets with Cruz getting first T/D, NY giants -3.5, and with about 4 minutes to go any NY Giants win while they were 2 points behind with NE in possession   Helps to ease the pain of missing the poker recently...........well just slightly!

back up and running last night in a $5.50 MTT on Betfair, min cashed finishing 86th of about 750. Was always running lower than average ggetting absolute rubbish for most of the 2+ hours. Managed to quadruple up with pocket 8"s about halfway through after shoving 2.3 k at 200/400 and got 3 callers, flopped a full house to get me going again at least .

Now between working full time again (finally) and shipping (kerching) into my EBay account from flogging all my Whitney Houston vinyl   :"( , I"ve been a busy boy recently and not had much poker to speak of. Really happy with the online league announcement tonight, looking forward to playing for Scotland in the league, and finally have the best excuse ever for opening a Pokerstars account. Annie Apple was wondering what to get me for my birthday on 24th....would my first deposit be rude to ask for?

Having a bit of fun playing the WH $1 late night MTTs recently & cashed 19/422 last night for the grand sum of $2.53   Was great chatting to a fellow Glaswegian (now in Limerick) Rabhaw on there tonight. Hopefully he"ll join the APAT gang when Cork gets another visit in season 6!

Wee Sammy Aygo had his 2 year service this morning so on the way home I managed to nip in to The Alea to see a few of the guys at the SPT Glasgow before it starts. Good luck to Chas Kearns and Davie Blacklaw over the weekend and to Debbie Kimm & any others I know playing the simultaneous leg in Brighton. Was great as ever seeing Tighty but kinda wish I hadn"t popped in as I"m gutted to be sitting at home now and not playing  

Fingers crossed now for the racing at Sandown with Song Sung Blue (2.40) & Devil To Pay (3.15) for a wee each-way double.

Both came to be in contention from mid division about 3 out then were ready for the knacker"s yard 2 out  

Tonight sees the start of the new league and numbers are looking fantastic for week 1, possibly hitting 400 before the start in 40 minutes, with the Scotland team looking as strong as any. Good luck to all my team mates, hope we get off to a flyer, and all the best to everyone else taking part.

Just wtf??? 547 runners for the opening league game, that"s pretty damn awesome, and what  a game it turned out to be with a Scottish winner and 4th for yours truly. Some fantastic banter on the way also, shared a good few tables with many over the 7 and a bit hours, particularly good catching up for a while with Foggy (Chris) and Asa for a much shorter while  

$415 for the opening salvo also means that I"m now freerolling for the rest of season 6 league games   and a few of you already know how much I enjoy freerolling  

And to all the railers I tip my hat, kept the encouragement levels up for that last few hours when it was needed most, particularly Chas, who sent me a few texts along the way also.
