was that brief enough? :-\

Cheers Simon. It"s about the right size now! ;D

No, thanks for that.

Don"t forget the last league game on Sunday. I"m hoping to have to miss it by having a deep run at DTD but highly unlikely I spose.

Hey Jack

What are you looking to achieve with the take it more seriously and improve bit. What occurs to me is that if you really want to make money out of tournment poker the way to do it is to get a good understanding of shoving, reshoving and calling ranges. I don"t know if there are any decent books on ICM but maybe sitngo Wiz would be a good place to start. I am trying to learn about this at the moment and it is pretty tough going but as far as actually making money out of tournament poker I think undertsanding this will help you more than anything else. Harrington talks about the very simple ICM concepts when he mentions the gap concept of course but there is quite a bit more to it than that.

Anywai if you could go and figure that out and explain it to me once you have that would be great :-)

Still trying to think of something amusing to write in this bit.

In the unimaginable event that I figure it out, I"m afraid you"re unlikely to be around in the 2 second time span my memory will last to explain it to you.

As for what I"m trying to achieve. Well the improvement would be an end in itself. At the moment I live in constant fear of making an @rse of myself. Come to think of it, that doesn"t just apply to the poker table.

I picked my 3D blu-ray player up today. It came with a copy of Shrek 3D.

The perfect accompaniment to my beautiful (if a little over-priced ;D) 46" 3D telly.

So why have I just spent nearly £20 on cinema tickets?

The first of my new poker books arrived today, Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand At A Time. A cursory skim through and it looks good so I"ll look forward to getting to grips with it.

I think I might try to set aside one night a week for a spot of reading otherwise I"ll just never get through them.

To be honest, my intent to take it more seriously has been a bit lol up to now. Can I blame the Ashes and an upsurge of activity on blonde combining to steal my spare time and beauty sleep?

Still it"s Saturday tomorrow and after a (hopefully) good night"s sleep I"ve got some free time so I can get my spreadsheet sorted. I"ll be a bit loathe to start reading WPTOHAAT and then being tempted to try unfamiliar ideas in a half-@rsed way at DTD tomorrow evening. Best just go with my full-@rsed game I reckon for now.
