A good night on the pokerz tonight.

I played 3 of the deepstacks on Sky Poker to help support blonde"s new sponsorship deal with them. I played two £2.20 tournies and a £22er. I managed to win one of the £2.20ers for £75 and came 2nd in the £22er for £156 (after having my oppo all-in & dominated post flop only for him to bink on the turn :()
...

I can also recommend the "Tikay Sleepstack"

As well as the better than average* structure you can also keep entertained with some of the table chat and hand analysis

One player called an all-in 5 bet with ace high (for almost all of his >100bb stack) and spiked an ace on the river to knock out his opponent"s QQ (over pair to the flop when the money went in) - one of the other players then congratulated him on playing the hand well, and I"m fairly certain he wasn"t being ironic or sarcastic!

Later on a couple of players were left baffled as to why a short stack in the small blind would call 2 all ins with TJ - what was more baffling to me was that when one of them brought up a hand where he"d cracked AQ with AK; the AK player said he hadn"t minded that as "that was just a standard race"

All in all - a good tournament to play ;D

That puts me in profit for the year to date. Which is nice.

Ah good you are in form, we will expect a similar performance in the team event next Saturday.

Here"s the others photos worth posting. They were taken on my phone and I"d reduced the quality as I thought I might be posting them direct from my phone and didn"t want to use up all my 10MB data roaming allowance on a few photos.

The casino. It really was very futuristic-looking from the outside.

Mr Shallis. I believe he may have had a couple of shandies.

Mr Laming. Our proud fourth place finisher.

A (rather poor) view along the seafront as our brave expeditionary force venture away from the Hotel Excelsior in search of more beer on the first night.

Not much on this weekend.

Got to go round my sister"s tomorrow to change a dimmer switch and put a new light fitting up in her toilet then back in time for wall-to-wall Heineken Cup rugby. I"m an electrician by trade although I now masquerade under the rather grand and over-blown title of Design Engineer.

Tigers are playing on Sunday at home to no-hoper Italian side, Treviso. It should be a nailed-on 5 points. Hopefully Llanelli will be able to deny Perpignan the bonus point so we can finish top of our group and hopefully secure a home tie in the quarter finals. We"re virtually certain to qualify as one of the best two runners-up so long as we win but it"ll leave us with an away day in the next round and at this level it makes a massive difference.

Oh, I"ve just realised it"s on in 3D too, so that"ll be good.

I might play a bit of poker too, after finally getting in the black for the year last night. I was going to play tonight but my neighbour came round and scuppered that idea.

I still haven"t started reading up on the pokerz yet - I really must set some time aside. I also had big ideas of joining training site and getting some poker tracker style software too. So, a renewed appeal for recommendations for sites & software aimed at the MTT player. Anyone?

Has anybody heard of or, better still, used a site called PokerPwnage?

It seems to be well regarded for MTT coaching videos if the review I read is straight and to be believed.

I purposely used the italics as part of my anti-bok strategy. We"ll see. Just hope we don"t get Munster in the quarters  ::)

I sorted my sister"s lights out - a very simple job really - didn"t take long at all.

I always like to finish a job by asking the beneficiary if their house insurance is up to date. Just in case it goes up in flames.

Don"t want them too keen to ask me back do I?

Leicester completed a competent victory over Treviso getting the try bonus point in the process as expected. It finished 62-15.

Unfortunately, Perpignan also gained the try bonus versus Llanelli so we face a tough away day in Dublin playing Leinster.
