I know OP has apologised and everyone is friends again but if I was posting words such as "disgusted" and was feeling wound up, it would surely have been aimed at the buffet.

I can eat anything (seriously) but that "beef stew type whatever it was" beat me. I got it in my mouth but could not physically chew it, break it down or swallow it.

Have the RSPCA been informed??

I had two plates the second one being one of the many left discarded around the place!

Really was the worst ever, I had to spit out the only mouthful I tried!! Potatoes and gravy for the win!

Not entirely sure it was dirty.  Just know I was told to use my hands when I asked where the serving utensil was!  lol  Sigh.  Good thing I"d a clean (we hope) fork to get some of it and am pretty sure most had swerved the salad up to that point. 

Also a good thing they served drink.  Amazing how little bothers a person with regard to food after enough cocktails.

I was 3rd in the queue for the first sitting and I opted for the veggie lasagne - all in all I ran good for buffet

As good as you could get at least.
