All we need to agree on is that a sandwich is a snack and NEVER a meal. Ps white poppyseed bloomer, three slices. Lightly butter. One half cheese, onion. The other beef, rare, with tomato. Whack into a triple decker. Eat while you wait for lunch

Stew got my reply in before me so will have to answer seriously.

I don"t have a favourite sandwich. I do have a favourite sandwich for different parts of the day. I can"t seperate them to the point that if I was to be executed and given a final sandwich, I would ask what time of the day I would be getting it (the sandwich that is - not the needle etc)

So keeping with wayne"s request, I prefer

Thick white bloomer in the morning

Granary Barmcake in the afternoon

Plain naan Bread in the evening

Fillings to follow - once his royal nosiness allows it

Before we get to the filling, we have to talk about butter or margarine

OMG what have you done to my evening!  Well by my reckoning, there"s no need to overcomplicate things....

butter obv

but before we go to butter, shouldn"t we be discussing whether the bread is toasted, warmed or just eaten cold?
