vul Debs.

Had Mr. Channing on my table (not me on his :)) and what a really nice guy he is.

Similar story for me. I have  qh qc. utg raises from 300 to 825, I re-raise to 1975, he calls. Flop 2 5 8 (2 hearts). He bets 1125, I call.
Turn Js. He bets 1500, I raise to 3250, he calls, looking iffy. River Kd. He bets 5300, I snap him as he looks really nervous. He shows AK >:(

Exit hand. I"m down to 14kish

Get a new player on my right. A bit of a loud know-it-all type who raises the first 4 hands and takes them down unapposed. Next hand I get ac 9s and I call his raise from 300 to 1125. Flop comes  :as: ks 8s. He bets 1350, I raise to 3125, he has a large dwell up and calls. Turn  9d. He bets 3500 and I re-raise to 6000. he dwells again and goes all-in. I call. He shows  ad1 ah...River  6d....magic :o

Hi all, just got home. As Dave as already said I went out with the best hand when all the chips were in. Can"t do more than that really. I was pretty disappointed as I had quite a nice stack (38k) and that would have set me up nicely. Never mind. Such is poker.

Good luck to everyone playing Day 2  ;D

Interesting hand - what were the starting stacks/blinds ...

What hand(s) did you put him on?

I had 26k and he had 31kish. I put him 9"s or 10"s after the c-bet, but I could tell by the look on his face that he was behind all the way. He"s made a number of overbets prior to this hand and was getting them through fairly easily, even with Channing on his left, and I knew I was ahead. When the King hit and I called he said "sorry man, I got lucky there" >:(

It"s a really interesting tournament hand ... I think I would be looking to raise more on the turn ... they have to call the small raise ... and try to get lucky event if they are trying to spike a set ...

What do you think on reflection?

I agree with you all, I played it too passively. Too be honest I thought that he"d fold after the re-raise on the turn, he just look beat to me.

End of day 1:

63,200 vs 98,400 Average 1500/3000 (400) 81 left ... 72 paid ...

Lost a 110k pot late on in the blinds ... UTG short stack shoves ... SB mid stack tanks and flats ... I have AJ ... I decide to flat ... hoping that the SB has a smaller Ace ... no ace on the flop ... so check check ... Ace on the turn ... he fires out at me ... and I insta call ... vs trip 8s ... mmm ...

All the money is always going in regardless of how it get there ... it is just an added value race ...

Before that an epic day ... I corrected folded JJ vs QQ (shown) which was very pleasing ... I then doubled up AK button into the flat calling BB A9 ... Axx ...

Lost momentum on another blinds special 69s turn the straight ... but versus 69s which has made the flush ... lost the min there ... and generally skimming above average until card dead for about 2.5 hours ... then getting chopped by a small stack race TT vs AJ (with another AJ folded!)

I then tried a river steal - which got called down by bottom pair ... hero call maybe ... but he then donked off the rest of his chips to others ... so as we approach midnight I am the micro stack ... but the UTG AJ shove is called by 88 and the J on the river has me in play ... still way below average ... but a great time for a table move and a card rush with JJ and QQ re-raise with the same opponent ... AA just about fully paid by AQs ... and the next hand sadly my back to back AA seeing no action ...

Then the AJ vs 88 special and left need to get busy with the hilarious prospect of finishing outside the money having required a £45 taxi home ...

Lots of good players and famous names but very little exceptional poker going on ... I should give Gareth Cash a mention ... with his 56s three bulleted attack on my AQ ... but the final bullet he had the flush ... and I paid a little to see it!

Game on tomorrow .. midday kick off ...
