Glad it was him 1st to stand up to FTP, he was always one of the most respected players anyway.

Makes the situation a little sticky for the punters with money on the site.

They have obviously suffered a downturn in the daily funds being processed on the site since black friday, I wonder if any other sites are in the same situation?

As I understand it FT"s basic problem is that they were mingling their punters money with the FT working capital rather than keeping it entirely separate as PS did (different legislations/jurisdictions).

Because of this FT have had to try and work out some financing deal to pay back their account holders without going to the wall and Ivey"s announcement pretty much fecks this up.

PS are coming out of this with a pretty clean image...other than the whole "fraudulent banking" thing of course  ;D...and that still hasn"t been proved.

It"s funny - when you mention Phil Ivey to Vegas dealers they don"t have a good word to say about him, which surprised me when I first heard it but heard it too many times now. However, Hellmuth is well liked as a generally nice person. Tipping will have a lot to do with it I guess.

One older dealer told me a story about something Joe Hachem did during one of the world series. She had dealt him aces something like 4 times in a single day, and they never got cracked. He got yanked for a table move late on and offered his hand to shake with "his favourite dealer". She felt something slip into her hand so put it straight in her pocket as there"s trouble I think for that kind of thing but when she looked later he"d passed her a $5,000 chip! Nothing to him I guess but he didn"t need to do it. Nobody does that for me when I deal at BCPC :(
She also said she doesn"t deal the world series any more because she hates the abuse she gets from the younger kids who have no manners and she can"t sit there all day and take it. Sad.

I am crushed by all this. I really thought I knew Phil Ivey and now it turns out I didn"t know him at all.  All those hours of watching him on poker shows.  I"ll never trust anyone from telly again.  Men they"re all b*stardos.
