i know a few people who have played against or spoken to him, supposed to be real sound and genuine. Amazing that he hasnt got a sponsorship deal yet.

Yes Jake is very down to earth and deserves every success, even this much.
Looking forward to making my first day 2

Yeah i was thinking that myself... worked out i guess.. on the other side, was it a good call?? i guess previous situations must of played a big part part in the call... also i dunno if Jake had used his extra add on/ons? and decided to try and end it there... either way i couldnt see myself calling with A5 dunno what i could be beating in that play, unless timoshenko put him on KQ/KJ maybe.. even so dont like the call for a braclet and 850k!!

They"d both used their add-on token (judging by the size of the stacks). I guess with a 2:1 chip lead, 3 hours in, against Timoshenko who was raising every button, a shove with K9 is reasonably standard. He"s also shoved the previous in the same way and got it through.  Not sure what the stack/blind ratio was though.

In terms of the call..... well, he knows that Jake is shoving a wide range..... with a 2:1 deficit he can"t afford to get steam-rollered - gotta make a stand at some point, and he has an ace!

I don"t think I am in any position to question his play, he is a triple crown winner! (I"m not :( )

the odds on his hand was 43/57 dog.

I think it was a good play from Jake. He cant call if Timoshenko shoves. Timoshenko can fold. If he gets a call he probably knows that most of the time he is essentially flipping to take it there and then. A lot of people will fold a5 in this spot.

I think Timoshenko makes the questionable call here. I think the call is bad as he is not in control of the hand and there are a lot better hands that will be shoving in this spot, however Steve is right and he has to make a stand sometime and got it in good, not great.

I thought initially that it was pretty bad by both, rolling dice for a bracelet. However, I"ve realised that Blinds were up to 80,000 / 160,000, with stacks at 4,332,000 & 2,068,000, which I suppose is the justification for the play.

Timoshenko had used both of his add-ons, whereas Cody hadn"t used any, so I guess that also gives him a free hit.

Crowd is awful imo. No need for that in poker at all.

I don"t see the problem with the play. The only one i"d question would be Timoshenko limping in with the A-5, then contemplating whether to call the shove. I"d either be shoving myself here or snapping him off when he shoves. Why else limp in with it?

Aside from that, don"t see an issue. Cody is playing very aggressive. A-5 may be pretty weak but against someone like Cody if you"re folding all the time in these spots when he shoves he"s going to run you over.

A5 is a powerhouse given the number of times that Jake 3 bet shoved. I watched it at the time and thought it was a great nit roll.

If anyone had watched the whole match this was as standard as it gets.

It was ridic aggro and Cody admitted himself that he is better in ICM spots where he"s sub 20 bigs. He played to his strengths and it paid off big time.

Timo was virtually min raising every button and Jake was 3 betting something around 30% of pots which is huge.

So, in these circumstances when the might K9 suited meets the monster that is A5o there"s only one place where all the chips are going.

And after that- with the 18 months Jake has had, there was only ever one winner.....
