the whole idea of sponsorship, from which free registration of APAT live comps, added value and indeed APAT as a whole relies....is on the basis that people will buy in online via the sponsor, play on the sponsor"s site etc etc

One event soon, people will be in for a shock when we do not allow buy ins on the day, run a 60 runner comp and move on.

Please encourage as many as possible to buy in online

I agree 100% I"d be one player that would like it be pre reg online seats only! Maybe this is the event to make that rule a reality !

Agree with this

Usually u hear of  bigger buy in comps around town....pretty quiet on this...possibly because apat haven"t done Glasgow before....the local players who sign up on the day will not provide potential for the sponsors

Hope it doesn"t become a reg fest....

One way to encourage players of buying online is if they do turn up on the day they"ll be paying £100 with the extra money going into the prize pool. Think that would get them clicking on a mouse for sure!

I"m one of the missing players Rich - you"ve 3 or 4 from down my area as I"ve been encouraging folk to play & then I"ve went & run short of funds. Will try to buy in before the cut-off date, but a week later would see me hitting payday & I could buy in no bother.

I agree with boywonder the standard of player willing to part with £75 on the day to be honest is not the best to say the least !! These players are used to cheap wham bam thankyou mam style of poker events you get in most casinos in Glasgow. Those who are willing to travel some distance in some cases to play the APAT  events are looking to avoid these kind of players that could ruin such a well organised event as this one ! I"d opt for less players with a higher standard everytime!

Surely these are the exactly the players you want to be playing against!!

better to play a 150 runner tourney in which two thirds of the field don"t have a clue, as opposed to a field of 50 sharks!!

Would be disappointed if there was a move to withdraw the Scottish Amateur Championship. Marketing could have told you that the weekend of the Tourney coincides with the local "Glasgow Fair" Holiday, a possible reason for the unfilled capacity.

The other reason could be the the Gala is not the best of venues, the Alea would have been more suitable.

Anybody who pays £75 to participate in a Poker Tournament, is entitled to play the game in anyway he or she chooses !!

The Alea was a major disappointment when they were used for an event I was involved with before. Great facility, huge improvements required in hosting large scale third party tournaments

No idea what "Glasgow Fair" is. Neither did the venue suggest the date would be an issue
