So is this all confirmed now for Cork, because the Live Tournament Calendar thread still has Cork as being proposed and not confirmed?

Sorry...was busy checking hotels and flight times.

Here"s the thing, if Tighty or Leigh post an "official" announcement thread I"d take that to the bank....the rest of us just play catch-up.

BTW, I don"t post Travel Tips until I"ve had confirmation...so there"s another clue.

Still...all done now.

I"m thinking about this hotel - Best Western Montenotte Hotel

There are some deals around for it, but it"s 1.4km away from the card room (so probably about 4 times as far as most people would like), and there may be some kind of hill involved in that distance - so I"m not expecting too many other people to be staying there; but just making the suggestion for if people are starting to think about where to stay.  :)

LOTS of hill and no fecking way would you catch me walking it even if I was promised an all night bar once we got there.  Taxis will be only realistic mode of transport to and from that hotel unless yer super fit or insane.  You"ve been warned.

Tempting as I have "Diamond" status with BW (blatant undeserved brag) but I"m not any kind of walker and both the Gresham and Isaacs are just steps away from the Macau.

In fact, the Gresham has a rear exit (and perhaps entrance) [at least it so appears on google street view) into St Patricks Quay.

Just double checked some rates and the Metropole (which was my first pick) has jacked up their rates considerably in the last few days....they must have heard we were coming.

Not to knock our Laterooms partner but I just got 3 nights at the Isaacs for 176 quid via Hotels.com (+ cashback if you know how).

Jon"s deal looks pretty good right now...if I was a walker.

Jammed it in....now about the flights.

Is that the full rate bought and paid for - or have you got all the fun hidden extras to look forward to?

Just called the Gresham Metropole Hotel to ask about late check out (cheapest flight with Aer Lingus to LHR is £0.00) as flight departs at 20.20 and was told the following.

Check out can be extended FOC to 1pm and a twin room with single or double occupancy can be had for 79 euro per night room only for Friday, Saturday or Sunday. You need to call (00353.21.464.3700) to book quoting APAT as a reference.

Annoyingly the absolutely cheapest way of what I want (4 nights, Thursday - Monday and a hotel with a swimming pool)
doesn"t work. The cheapest hotel rate is if I book it with the flight, but the cheapest flight is if I book it separately.

But I"ve decided to be a bit more laid back about it and not worry about saving the odd twenty quid, so I"ve booked Thursday to Monday at the Best Western Montenotte hotel. The hotel plus the flight comes to £265, it might be possible to get it a bit cheaper if anyone tries hard enough.

Not going to argue with Paulies recommendations, Isaac"s booked Fri-Mon.

Now to find a flight, going to need to fly out of Bristol looking at the prices from Cardiff :-)

Still trying to think of something amusing to write in this bit.
