New Year Poker Resolutions
« on: December 31, 2007, 09:46:39 AM »
I would be interested in knowing what everyone"s poker resolutions are for 2008. Personally I intend to swear a bit less when someone makes a bad call and gets lucky (if it"s me that makes the bad call and gets lucky I thank the poker gods and will continue to do so).
I also intend to play fewer small stake big field MTTs, and play more 10 to 30 seat SNGs as this is what really builds my bank roll.
Often the correct decision is the hardest to reach

Mine are:

1. Think more before I act.

2. Make day 2 of an APAT National.

3. Continue to enjoy poker and support APAT.

4. Attempt to reach 400 posts before Daniel reaches 1,200  ;D

Try to improve my game, and hope the results follow.

Oh, and to post more on here.

I have loads including;

1) Be more patient

2) Be more aware of those around me and their chip stacks

3) Fold Pocket Pairs when they"re 3rd top pair on the flop

4) Support APAT as best I can!

Still no luck after 23 months  :(

Live 2nd places, final tables and cashes - but no "First Place".

Maybe 2009 will be the year for me too.

I had three live wins in Nov/Dec in 100+ fields...... the problem now is that having been there, I (and my wife"s bank account) fully expect more. Resolutions for 2008 include win an APAT event, and to play on a televised table at a major tour event.

Other resolution is stop the fall that inevitably seems to happen after a few wins. My bankroll graph looks like the Big One at Blackpool - must learn to flatten it out a little.

2008 -
1) Serious Bankroll Management (have opened seperate account away from main bank account)

2) Play more live..Making 1st Regional, and getting to DTD

3) Play only online when fullly concentrating..and not asked what the bloke did to his head in Holby City
..(Less is more ethos)

4) Read more, learn more (done Harrington vol 1...started slansky theory of...)

5) Do what I can for APAT in any little way i can

I don"t have any huge New Year Resolutions, but I would like to:

1. Add a Gold to my medals,

2. Make it to Day 2 in an APAT National.

3. Play more live poker.

4. Gain more confidence

5. Have proper bankroll management for online play

All the Best for 2008 every a Very Happy New Year.

To hurt, main, kill and destroy my opponents.

Whether its live poker or on the internet.

They shall tremble to hear my name,
they shall cower in the dark corners of the room,
their breathing will not come easy to them
and the dread cold sweat of fear will furrow their brow"s
as they wait for me...
to annihilate and crush them.

Your ambitions were too boring Brendan so I"ve fixed it for you.

i went on a decline of trying to win every hand towards the end of the year because i just thought i could outplay every1.

ive already began to stop doing this and its already paying dividends, so i suppose ive gotta stick to that.

Tough 1 though, especially if youve won a few pots and have a few chips
if you ever remember some stranger who sucked out on you.

chances are, it was probably me!
