Haven"t Gala recently launched a new poker room?

Also heard good things about Sheffield (as a poker venue, not the place itself)

Well from the responses it seems that you wont be able to hold a APAT event that will please everyone.

How about holding regional live tournaments!

This could get even more people involved, people who have never played at any APAT events before.

I am sure that most regions would be able to get at least 50 - 75 players - 2-3 times a year.

At say £55 entry; it could provide a decent game, with a good prize pool to be won. You could have additional prizes, where the winner and the runner up from each regional game, would gain entry into the APAT championships in DTD.

I know that it would be hard work organising, but you might find enough volunteers from within the regions to help set these games up.

Its only the past 18 months that i have been involved with APAT.

Would it not be worthwhile to put a questionnaire  out to members, to see
what if any response there might be to those who would want to play,
those who would would help organise it.
From these responses you could see what areas would be interested and who may be interested in helping organise.

I do appreciate that those behind the scenes do an awful lot of work in organising and running the events, and often your work is taken for granted.

Have you had a natter to Gala Bristol Harbourside? They put on a leg of the PokerPlayer Tour so I"m sure they"d be happy to host the APAT. Card room seats ~150.

Sadly, as much as I like Gala Bristol and as good as it would be, Tighty has indicated that Gala as a company aren"t interested in doing business with APAT.

The Gala Gibraltar are interested in putting on an APAT event and the flights from Liverpool, Manchester, Luton and Heathrow are cheap!!! Come on APAT its a great location.

I"ve never had that indication at all from Gala, or any company in the industry.  Richard may not be talking to the right people.  Or as is more likely, he is utilising his knowledge of specific venues / locations from past experiences.

Sorry Des, I didn"t mean to cause trouble. It might just have been the way I read this quote;
