You could always fly into Gatwick and get the train from there.  ;D

Just checked and that"s the best option Paulie.. trains, planes and automobiles it is
1hr ish drive to Newcastle Airport + 1hr 30min flight to Gatwick + 35min Train to Brighton

Cheers.. still would of preferred Prague though.. sorry Czech Republic  ;) x

By the way, well done all at APAT! It was looking like the Worlds was the last chance I had for a live event, but not anymore!

Sadly, it looks like I"ll have to miss the Manchester event (very sad - I haven"t been there for years). The Brighton event, on the other hand, is a 10 minute walk for me. GET IN!

The staff at the Rendezvous are quite good, and most have been dealing there for quite a while. Can"t wait!!

You aint drivin to vegas Paulie surely ?? lol

No...although I have done the LA to Vegas road trip thing.

Vegas is pretty much paid for barring a couple of hundy for hotels but add another £500 for the timing belt + another £350 (or more) for Manchester and the December credit card bill would cripple me.

What I don"t spend in Manchester will mostly cover the car....easy decision really although it"ll still hurt to miss it.

Looks like I may have to miss Manchester.

It"s only a couple of days after I get back from Vegas and the Audi needs to have it"s timing chain/belt replaced.

There goes a monkey without even blinking.

Shiite - that is all  :(

When I go to the APAT event up north, from Brighton, flying from Gatwick always seems the best option. I hope

Why bother?

When you get there, some donkey will only call your 3-bet with AA holding some toilet like K7 and hit 2-pair  :)

Nice! Well remembered! Will I be doing the same to you in Brighton?

Probably not - clashes with Northampton Saints v Munster in the Heineken Cup.

Will be at Manchester though

FML....Just had the car serviced and the feckin" "Engine Management Computer" light comes on. Audi want c.£125 just for a bloody diagnostic.

I casually ask how much they would charge for the timing belt...£800+. I think not.

The hits keep on coming.

Paulie, I had similar problems with my last car with warning lights coming on, after getting quotes to fix them being the same as buying the moon I decided on a much easier solution. I removed the bulbs. Problem solved x

Pailie,

Assume you didnt service this at an Audi garage.  ;D

Audi still try to avoid the ""freemarket"" for servicing and are charging you to turn the light off basically. They havnt released the info on resetting lights on the newer models yet. (I work for a big fleet company and we have same issue)

Best advice at the moment is ignore it and service next one at dealers. If we get any better info I will post.

Get the software loaded on your lappy (I have a mate that has the Audi stuff), get the connecting lead, connect it and diagnose it yourself, you can also reset all sorts. I can PM you his number (after I tell him) if you like.....

Although we"re getting away from the topic.

I had it serviced by Kwik-fit for £205 incl the MOT. They"ve done me right for the past 4 years on that front.

The EMC issue will be a max of £125 (about an hour"s work, I reckon)...and I"d rather not ignore it just in case.

I could ignore the timing thing too but I"d rather pay £500 than have to pay for a new engine.

On a brighter note I just found £300+ on Neteller I"d forgotten about...that"ll help.
